Furnaces

In our area, the furnace is the center of the indoor weather system. The furnace not only provides the heat required for winter comfort, it also serves to move the cool air required in the summer. Hinrich has a wide range of Carrier furnace options available. We choose a furnace for your home based on a number of factors. We consider the heating requirements of the home, the air delivery required, the size of the ductwork, the condition of the chimney, and any special requirements of the homeowner.

Furnace efficiency generally falls into two general categories. Mid-efficiency furnaces are generally between 78% and 82% AFUE. High efficiency furnaces generally are above 90% AFUE. You will notice that no furnaces are made with an AFUE between about 83% and 89% AFUE. These furnaces experience severe venting and corrosion problems.

Condensing furnace technology separates the high efficiency furnaces from the mid-efficiency models. Most furnaces have one heat exchanger to convert combustion gases into usable heat. A condensing furnace adds a secondary heat exchanger which extracts more heat from the gas used. By making the most of the fuel used, condensing furnaces are the most energy efficient gas furnaces you can buy.

Carrier ComfortHeat Technology in both mid-efficiency and high efficiency furnaces can enhance your comfort. With a typical furnace, the average temperature can fluctuate as much as 4 degrees between cycles. A two-stage gas furnace improves air circulation for more consistent heating which can reduce the average temperature fluctuation to 2 degrees or less.

Adding a variable speed motor makes your furnace a thinking machine. When combined with the electrical efficiency of a variable speed motor, Carrier's two stage gas furnaces deliver totally energy efficient indoor weather. Throughout the cooling season, when the furnace is matched with a Carrier air conditioner, this advanced motor helps reduce the amount of electricity needed to keep cool air circulating throughout your home. This can raise the efficiency of the air conditioner by an additional point.

Carrier's mid-efficiency furnaces are a reliable option. These furnaces use a Class-B gas vent system or masonry chimney with a flue liner. They feature items such as the exclusive Draft Safeguard Switch. This feature monitors flue vents for blockage and automatically shuts down furnace operation to prevent harmful gases from escaping into your living space. Hot surface ignition eliminates the pilot for reliable and quiet start up and operation.

The Carrier Weathermaker 9200, high efficiency furnace, offers guaranteed reliability based on quality components. The secondary heat exchanger uses Carrier's Serpentuff technology. A polypropylene lining protects the folded steel substrate while epoxy coating outside furthers protects it from corrosion. Both the primary and secondary heat exchangers are covered by a limited lifetime warranty. Hot surface ignition eliminates the worry associated with a pilot light. A four speed direct drive blower allows us to set the fan speed appropriate for your home. And like all Carrier high efficiency furnaces this unit features sealed combustion with PVC piping used for the intake and vent.

For the very best in energy efficient heating, a Carrier Weathermaker Infinity gas furnace is the choice for you. This furnace combines two stage heating with variable speed blower technology. These advanced features allow the Infinity to deliver the ultimate in indoor weather.
